Blog 2: the squeakquel

Laptop acquired! Thank you tax refund and also best buy. (they didn't do anything special but my dogs got to come into the store with me)

Hopefully this will help get me to work on personal projects more and do applications for jobs in my field and stuff. And also help me get/keep the habit of regular writing or posts in general.

Speaking of! I did get a little bit of a promotion at work! You're now reading from the blog of a Loan Supervisor. Not anything fancy, but it does mean I don't have to talk to customers (unless they're already pissed off). Nothing makes you feel like the most competent person in the loan department after seeing just how many silly mistakes your coworkers make :P

Anyway, I'll make some posts later detailing my adventures in going to a concert with bigfoot and my tamodachi island antics and whatnot. Maybe I'll even look up how to format this stuff to make it look nicer. 

In the meantime, he's what my sketchbook cover looks like <3 my partner made it (binding, trimming and everything!) and I decorated it. It makes me so happy every time I see it.

I'm alive!

Hello yes I'm alive and it's been months but I'm here!

My laptop screen died and mobile is icky and honestly? I did forget. but anyway I'll try to get some posts up in the best future to catch up.

yeah this isn't every day

I knew from the beginning I want going to be able to do every day posts, or even every other day, but hey this is still a pretty decent chunk of days! And it doesn't hurt anything to not post. But I think the habit of taking time to write something for myself or a small handful of other people peeking in from a Tumblr post, is a habit worth pursuing. 

I'm thinking about trying to get into journaling, because you KNOW I've got a chest full of stationery. But also sitting down to write feels so formal. Making a post in an ancient blog space feels much more natural, like the secrets of my notes app or texts to my sibling. 

I kinda feel that way about a lot of things. I know something unpolished is better than nothing at all. But sometimes I really wish I had the time and energy and focus to polish, y'know? I could probably do pretty cool things. Or maybe I just make big plans in the cheap notebook because I'll save the cute fancy one for when I know what I'm doing.

I had to go in person to work unexpectedly and so I've got no energy. Here's some silly snippets of texts I've sent my gf :)

• Is using coffee as the hot water in your oatmeal speed running the fiber stuff? Because I was too lazy to heat up separate water when the coffee pot is just. Right. There.

• On the radio the other day, the dj lady said "you've heard of elf on a shelf. But some people may not have heard of USING YOUR TURN SIGNAL" and then played Taylor Swift Bad Blood 💀

2 truths and a lie

Nothing new lately so I figure a good old fashioned ice breaker will be fun and easy to post.

1) I've held a baby bear cub

2) I was featured in the local aquarium's art night fundraiser event

I luv library

We'll see how long this lasts, but I'm taking a drive into committing to this reading habit. Today I went to get my reading program points at the library, and got a free book for keeps and a cute little pin! I also downloaded storygraph because apparently goodreads is owned by Amazon and also I haven't touched it since maybe a year or two after high school? It does let you import the lists of books you've read and stuff, which is great! 

Except. This was from after high school. So all my reviews are like. 1 & 2 star ratings for all the books I was required to read then...

To be completely honest, there's a bunch I don't remember anything from, but I didn't want to start from scratch. So I just deleted the ratings and kept it in my history. Nobody deserves to be remembered by what people thought of them in high school. 

This Thursday the library is having a class on how to make your own watercolor paints! I'm excited because that's one of my favorite kinds of video rabbit holes to get lost in. Paint mixing/making and just the process stuff in general is really nice to me. But maybe that's the art student in me.
